Powerpoint presentation

I have converted a soundtrack to WAV file for use with Powerpoint but I have a problem in that, it continuously loops back to the beginning at the start of each slide i.e. 35 second slide, first 35 seconds of track, second slide back to the beginning of the track, my ambition is to have the full 3:30 mins of soundtrack to run continuously through the entire 5 slide presentation, I have tried 'Apply to all' and other various permutations but alas, all to no avail
Presentation runs for 3:45 mins and soundtrack runs for 3:22mins has this any bearing on my problem.
