Hello
Using Powerpoint 2007, Camtasia & Nero

I have a powerpoint slideshow of still pictures (66) with a soundtrack
How would I put this on DVD so as the the person operating the DVD
player remote can advance from slide to slide at will allowing for
discussion?

Discussion and soundtrack sounds like a bad idea (as Steve said), but that's
your call.

What I would suggest, is that you simply burn the JGPs, to a CD/DVD/ or even
a PPT photo album. Use your personal MP3 player separately for the
soundtrack so you can control both the speed of the slides and the volume of
the background music.

Just record the screen when playing the PowerPoint with Comtasia.
OR you can use the PowerPoint to DVD converter PPT2DVD to convert and
burn PowerPoint to DVD.
You can evaluate the program from here: http://www.ppt-to-dvd.com/ppt2dvd/overview.html#104
It can retain all elements in your PowerPoint.

So, are you claiming that your product allows for separating the controls
for sound track from the images? In all the versions I've seen, and on
every DVD I've ever played, the sound and images are hard linked together.
Or are you just a bot?

Hi Steve
I realised after I posted that there was no sense having a soundtrack
So how would I remove the soundtrack and how do I convert the slides
to JPGs & burn the JPGs to DVD or even a PPT photo album.

Usually, I don't like Acronyms, but I think you hit it spot on.

Click Office Button, click Save As.
In the resulting dialog box, you have the option of changing the save-as
type. Change that to JPG.
Pick a folder to save to.
When go ahead from there, PPT asks if you want to save just the current
slide or all slides. Choose all.

It'll export each slide in your presentation to an individual JPG.

(Aside: if the slides have text and the JPGs come out looking like the dog
had them for breakfast, we have an inexpensive add-in that does a much
better job; http://www.pptools.com/imageexport/ With luck, PPT will do
fine on its own though.)

Steve
There is no option to save as jpg
To get at the soundtrack, save the presenation again, this time as a web
page and choose the regular HTML option, not the Single File / Archive / MHT
option. PPT will create an html file in the folder you choose, and a
subfolder chock-full of mysterious goodies. One of them will be your sound
file.

I got this slideshow by email, and have been told that I wiil be
unable to edit it - is that correct?

Yes, there is.
In the Save As dialog box, there's a dropdown list box next to the label "Save as Type"
You have to open the dropdown list box and scroll to see JPG as an option.

You are correct Steve, I didn't scroll down far enough
So now I have a folder with all the slides as JPEGs

Did this & got rid of the sound file (hip, hip)
Now.., I'm confused - AGAIN,
how does this remove the sound from the JPEGs?

No idea. I didn't send it, I don't have it in front of me.

You do. Try editing it. See what happens.

If you can, then [drumroll...] you can.
