PowerPoint presentation with more than one design template

I know this can be done because I have seen it. I want to apply different
design templates within the same PowerPoint presentation. I am using
PowerPoint 2000 AND PowerPoint 2003.
 
You want to look for information about Multiple Masters, but it only works in
PowerPoint 2002 and 2003, not 2000. In 2000, you would have to fake it by
linking together several presentations or adjusting the individual slides.

If you use 2003's multiple masters to create a presentation like this, it will
play back correctly *for the most part* in 2000

You can't create multiple master presentations in 2000 though.
