Powerpoint not responding after Vista upgrade

Having just upgraded from XP Prof SP2 to Vista Business I'm finding that when
I run Powerpoint 2007 (as part of Office 2007 Enterprise) I just can't get it
to run. Powerpoint sits there with Not Responding for quite a while then
comes back to the initial slide and when you try to edit the presentation the
application return to Not Responding.
I've tried the compatibility tests no luck. I've tried reinstalling
Powerpoint no luck. I've tried changing from the Aero theme.
Powerpoint is operating in compatibilty mode but it is the same application
that initially wrote the presentation.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Try, uninstalling again, delete the Micrsoft Office folder located under
Program Files, restart the system and reinstall. If the problem persist, I
would recommend doing a clean installation.

You might try OpenOffice.org - IMHO the presentation app is more intuitive
than powerpoint anyway - and it won't cost you anything to try it.

Why bother doing that when the OP already owns Office? OO.org and MS Office
are in different leagues and the feature parity is just not there. MS Office
is way superior, especially Office 2007 with the new Ribbon and Smart
Graphics.

I agree that MSOffice and OpenOffice are in different leagues. However my
assessment is that OO is in the majors while MS is a rookie league.
OpenOffice Presenter, for example, is a lot easier to use than PP.

Or try OO since it just works. Can install it and use it without so much
as a reboot.

Presenter might be a lot easier because the output always turns out ugly.

I've not had that problem. Even granting your asumption (which I don't)
that MS Office is much superior - what difference does it make if it won't
work!
