Powerpoint no longer included with office?

Why has microsoft stopped including this program in it's product?

I would like to upgrade but without the power point it is useless to me?

Is there somewhere that I can get an updated version without having to spend
even more money on Microsoft products??
 
Powerpoint is included with Office Professional...I suspect you've been
misinformed. In any case, this NG is for issues related to Microsoft
Access...the database product.
 
As far as I know, it is included in most editions.

What version of office did you get?

PowerPoint included in

Student and Teacher Edition
Standard Edition
Small Business Edition
Professional Edition

What software you get with each version is outlined here:

There is perhaps some other edition of office I am not aware of (there is
the "developers edition", but that is now actually called the Visual Studio
Developer extensions).

I would find out what version of office you have. Often, some computers are
shipped with Word...but don't include PowerPoint. This kind of decision is
thus based on what vendor where you purchased the computer.

And, as a side note, you actually got the wrong newsgroup, as this newsgroup
is for Microsoft access, which is also part of office.

There are many different version of Microsoft Office. Some do and some
do not include PowerPoint. Most business version will include it.

This is a newsgroup dedicated to questions about Access, the database
program in Office Professional. It appears your question may not be related
to these subjects. The Microsoft help system is not all that clear and may
have misdirected you here.

It is best to ask your questions in a newsgroup dedicated to the
subject of your question. You should find people better able to address
your problem there.

Note: It is always best to indicate the name and version of any
program(s) you may be using when asking a question and also indicate the
operating system (like Windows XP or 98) when you ask a question.

Take a look at

As you can see, every retail version of Office includes PowerPoint. The only
version that does not include it is the "Basic Edition" which you can't even
buy. It is only for pre-installations from OEMs.

Also, as Paul mentioned, this group is for Microsoft Access questions.

For your PowerPoint questions, you need to ask them in the PowerPoint group
at microsoft.public.powerpoint.

For your general Office questions like this, you need to ask them in one of
the more general Office groups that all start with microsoft.public.office.
