Powerpoint Mp3 & No Sound

Working on a small presentation and I want to play a piece of music at the
start. Put an mp3 file in the same directory as the powerpoint file, but
can't get the music to play. Simple small wave files play okay, but this
wont, or if it does no sound comes through.

Any ideas & suggestions gratefully accepted.

Does your sound play in Media Player.

To test, go to your Windows Start Menu, choose Run and type:

mplayer
mplay32
mplayer2

One of these will fire up the Media Player - if your MP3 plays in the Media
Player, then there's no reason why it should not play in PowerPoint.
