Sound file starting properly

I have inserted an mp3 sound file into my PowerPoint presentation and told it
to play automatically throughout, which it does. However, no matter what I
try, I cannot get the music to start until 8 seconds into the presentation.
In custom annimation, I have tried both to play with previous and after
previous--neither one changes the time that the music starts. Any ideas?

Is it the first thing in the custom pane list?

Are you loading it from a CD?

Yes, it is the first thing listed in the custom list pane and it is an mp3
file I purchased at ITunes. Thanks!

I have discovered the problem and do I ever feel stupid! The 8 seconds is in
the sound file itself. Now I just have to rerecord the file leaving out that
space. Thanks for your reply!

You could just use Audacity (free) and edit the existing file to remove the
dead space. Here's one of many places you can download.

Thanks for getting back - we all do those things from time to time ;o)

Be aware that iTunes often (always?) have DRM protection - they may not play
on other PC's

Thank you--I think I remember having to run the audio file through a
converter before I could get it to work on my PC. I appreciate your help!
