Powerpoint "hanging indent"

In MS Word there is the capability of hanging an indent on all the lines
after the first line. Works well with numbering and bullets to have all the
text left margin line up top of each other.
How do you accomplish this in a powerpoint placeholder? When you move the
second line indent symbol (hanging indent) on the ruler; it moves ALL lines
of text except for the bullet itself

This is very possible, but not native or automated.

You can not use the built in bullets. Instead manually insert a symbol that
looks like the bullet at the beginning of the line of text. Then adjust the
secondary tab indent to suit.

The hanging indent works exactly the same in PPT as it does in Word.
In both applications it just doesn't work with bullets.

I would just fake it by lining the 2nd level bullets up with the first (or
as appropriate) by pressing Ctrl while dragging the various indent markers.
Format the text the same as the first level bullets. Then "demote" text to
2nd level bullets as appropriate.
