How to set multiple indent levels in powerpoint 2007

In powerpoint 2003, list levels in a text box could be pre-set for all lines
in the text box so you could press the increase / decrease indent level
buttons and always get the same indents for all lines at the same indent
level, e.g.:

a. Line at indent level 0
b. line at indent level 1 (I purposely set hanging indent to
be large)
c. line at indent level 0
c. line at indent level 1 (same large hanging indent I set
in line b)

But in Powerpoint 2007, I have to set every line individually. Here's a
representation of what I get in 2007:

a. Line at indent level 0
b. line at indent level 1 (I purposely set hanging indent to
be large)
c. line at indent level 0
c. line at indent level 1 (NOT the same hanging indent I set above)

I hope I explained that reasonably clearly. Did something change between
2003 and 2007, and is there a way to get back to the 2003 behavior, so I
don't have to set the hanging indents for every line individually? I need to
be able to set the indents differently for different text boxes, so just
setting them once in the slide master won't work for me.

Thanks - Doug

Yeah, PPT 2007 lets you set individual bullets -- that is, by line --
whereas, as you know, in 2003, it was each level for the whole textbox.

I don't know of a way to get that behavior back except by setting it in the
master. As you mentioned, that's not really an option for you.

You might want to check into RnR Tools's add-in Shape Styles. It could save
you some time. http://www.pptools.com

I'd probably just suffer through, setting one line, then clicking the next
and hitting F4 to repeat. Or I'd use the eyedropper tools on a per-level
basis that is, set one bullet, pick up the style with the eyedropper, then
apply the style to all the other bullets at that level. Repeat for other
levels.

I wonder if you hit tab to set the levels, then if you use the dialog
launcher on the Home | Paragraph group and then hit Tabs, if that helps at
all.

But you know, I don't have as many problems with these inconsistencies. Are
you using ad hoc, manual, textboxes, or are you using placeholders? Does
your text have bullets, or is it bullet-less?
