Powerpoint 2000 on the web transition problems

When I save to the web and run my show, my transitions no longer properly dissolve. Instead, when the timing I set to change slides kicks in, it blacks out and then fades in from black for the next slide instead of dissolving from the previous slide. Any suggestions?
 
Go the javascript way....
