How and where can I set things up so that my system will automatically
power up when I turn on my power strip instead of using the mb button?

Look in the BIOS for something like "Awake the Computer from an S5 power
state by alarm clock". There also might be an option for the Mouse or
Keyboard that can Awake the computer from an S5 power state in the BIOS.
