power surge on hub port

i had this message come up on my computer
a usb device has exceeded the power limmits of its hub port for assistance
in solving this problem click this message

i click this message and get this

usb root hub(2 ports)
? unknown usb device
unused port
try removing usb device and press reset

ive taken out all usb device pressed reset but i still get this message

allso a few days before this happend a trip switch on our fuse board had
tripped and shut the computer off .after restarting ,the mouse or the
keyboard would not respond . to turn the computer off i had to hold the power
button the comp shut down but the fan at the back top was still running allso
the yellow power light styed on as did the dvd tray light, allso the lights
on the keyboard stayed on
i have got the mouse working buy uninstalling and reinstalling and that
seemd to work, so i thought i would try the same with the keyboard but after
uninstalling i realised that i did not have a disc to reinstall the so if
any one knows how i can reinstall it that would be good .but that wont help
the power surge problem i mentiond at the begining, if you dont get to lost
reading this i would be greatfull of some help. thanks

Sorry to say it sounds like a hardware failure...

The message you post comes up when the computer thinks that a usb device

and it could be a number of problems.

At the very least, look into the usb ports with a flashlight and confirm
that nothing is stuck or damaged (compare the different ports)

It would help to know the machine... can't even tell if it's a laptop or
desktop from your post... if it's a laptop, see if running it fully
charged on external power to see if that helps.
