I do not have power point but I have the ppviewer.exe 6.0.2600 dated
10/28/03. I worked fine pre sp2. A friend sent me an email with a pps
attachment on 8/26. Viewed the attachment fine. I have never had a problem
using ppviewer. I installed sp2 last weekend and things seemed OK (although
I think it is too much of a net nanny but I am working through it).
Today, 9/2/05, my friend sent me another email with a pps attachment. Now
it will not open (also, the file sent on 8/26 does not open now). It says
that no program is associated with this extension. Go to control
panel/folder types and create an association. I did that. It shows a
change was made and the ppviewer is shown it the list of programs; however,
power point is still shown as the program for that file type and the file
will not open. I get the same message.
I reinstalled the ppviewer but it did not help. I thought sp2 was OK (sort
of). This could drive me to uninstall sp2 and wait for the next update.
Any ideas?
