I have a 450w psu that is making a lot of noise, its not the fan cause it
makes this ticking noise when the power is off, it stops only if i turn the
switch off on the psu. Its always there and seems more pronounced when
theres more activity, say loading a program.

appreciate any help
thanks

What make and model is the PSU?

Find out and use the make and model to look for reviews by
using an appropriate search phrase in Google.

E.g., "sparkle 450W" + review

Or ask here by supplying the details.

If it's a poor-quality unit, buy a quality unit - Enermax,
Sparkle, Antec, etc.

They're easy to install. Just make sure the computer is
turned off, see how the existing PSU is installed, remove
it, and install the new one to the same connector(s) on
the motherboard and attach the power lines to the devices
(HDD, CD/DVD drives, etc.) in the same way.
