Power options properties

I have my monitor set to go to screensaver after 15
minutes and to turn off after 20 minutes. It goes to
screensaver OK, but instead of turning off after 20
miuntes the screen turns back on and stays on until I go
back into control panel/display/screensaver and reapply
the screensaver. I have tried changing times and
selecting the turn monitor off option via power options
rather than via display but nothing works.

Any ideas....................please!

You have another power setting conflicting with your power options. Look at
your third party applications settings to find the conflict.

your third party applications settings to find the conflict.

For example, if you have a battery backup power supply and if you've
hooked it into your PC via its serial or usb cable, then that power
supply is running a program. Look in the Power Options applet in
Control Panel.
