"power Option" won't work unless I re-boot

Gary

My operating system is Windows XP professional, and my computer is a Dell
Dimension 5150.

My "Power Options" are set to Home/Office Desk, with "Turn Off Monitors" set
to 20 minutes, "Turn Off Hard Disks" set to "Never" and "System Standby" set
to "Never". It usually seems to work as it should; that is, the system turns
of the monitor in 20 minutes.

The problem is that when I watch videos on-line from Hulu.com or some
similar service, the system does not turn the monitor off when it should.
But, if I turnoff/reboot the computer, the monitor dutifully turn off at the
specified 20 minute point.

Anybody know what's happening here, and how I can avoid the need to reboot?

Hi Gary,

Check the help documentation for whatever program displays the videos. It
sounds like the Monitor power down is being disabled temporarily, and not
restored afterward, except by reboot.
