power managment enabled

i have reset my bios to "setup defaults " which has now enabled power
managment so it says on boot up parameters screen.....but computer still
wont power off on shutdown...its listed as standard computer. in device
manager.theres no apm tab /control panel i have hibernate though ...no acpi
settings in device man....
maybe when i upgrade to xp it was set to off not sure ...but 98se power down
was ok....
so where do i go from here hopefully without a reinstall of xp!

Actual sentences with periods are A Good Thing. This is not an operating
system issue. Your motherboard's BIOS obviously does not support full
ACPI. Look for a BIOS update on the motherboard mftr.'s website, or
resign yourself to pushing the button to turn off the computer.

well i think it is an os fault the m/ board is acpi compliant and the os has
not detected it as being so, and has incorrectly installed the power
managment parameters ( the manafacturer has assured me its fully acpi
compliant)
