Power management not available

Hi,

My ThinkPad T41 w/XP Pro SP2 has lost capability to suspend and hibernate.
It has latest firmware and drivers, but "hibernate" tab is missing from Power
Options, and neither "Suspend" nor "Hibernate" is available in Start-Shutdown
menu.
After reading MS support documents it appears that some driver may be
preventing this capability, but I do not know how to isolate that bad driver.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

Your video adapter drivers probably need to be reinstalled.
Visit the IBM support web site download the latest drivers
for your specific IBM ThinkPad model number.

IBM Personal Computing Support
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/home.do?country=us

Before installing them, uninstall the old drivers. In your
Control Panel, open the Add or Remove Programs applet
and look for your video drivers to uninstall.

After installing a fresh set of drivers, right-click on your
desktop and select Properties > Settings, change the Color
Quality to "Highest (32 bit), then adjust your Screen Resolution
to your liking, then click on Apply.

Also, download and install the new ClearType Tuner Powertoy:
