Potential MAJOR bug in KB969604?

Please don't go all paranoid on us. <g>

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953195 says what SP2 does. Unfortunately, it
does so in typical Microsoft fashion -- everything it says is true, and you
won't understand most of it unless you have an encyclopedic background knowledge
of Office features and foibles.

Assistance with KB970942 patch

Hi all, we have around 115 computers that have received Office 2007 SP2 and hence the KB969604. It causes problems with our internal document management system and memo's with visual basic macros.

We are trying to work out the best way forward to resolve this issue which seems to be apply patch KB970942.

Though some of our computers have a version of Winword.exe later than that in the KB970942 patch. it doesn't rollback Winword.exe and instead leaves it as is.

Now I can't be confident that the problem is going to be resolved with a different version of Winword.exe to what is in the patch.

The patch seems to expect that you have SP2 winword.exe which is 12.0.6425.1000

But some of our computers have 12.0.6541.5000 which is from a later security patch.

So question is, does 12.0.6541.5000 include the hotfix that is from KB970942? I can't seem to find an answer on this one.

Thanks
Joel
