Possible ipconfig output problem

B

Boby George

I am having some problem interpreting the ipconfig output in XPe. I have
also attached output of the ipconfig command from XPe running in VPC. In
the output, if you look under Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection,
you can see that there is a second IP address field with weird format.
Can anybody give any explanation for this second IP address? The
interface does seem to work with the IP address 10.1.5.3.

Even for Tunnel Adapter, the IP address format looks strange, even
though I haven't assigned anything to this interface.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Boby

Boby,

You probably have IPv6 turned on the adapter. The IP address(es) mentioned below are IPv6 style.
If all you need is IPv4 support, disable IPv6 interface on the adapter's property page.

KM,

I was thinking about IPv6 too. But I was really wondering why they had a
% sign in the IP address and why it was not consistent across tunnel
adapter and Ethernet Adapter. And I am planning to provide IPv6 support
in our image, so I guess I have to get used to this format :)

Thanks,

Boby
