possible bug with outlook connector and dates

S

Srinivas

Hi
I have populated my Live contacts with birthdays and anniversaries.

When i use Outlook connector 12.1 beta to sync the contacts info into
Outlook 200, the birthdays sync fine, but anniversaries sync incorrectly,
they show-up 1 day prior to the actual date specified.

That is if the Anniversary is setup as 01/02/2009, The in Outlook 2007, I
see 01/01/2009.

Thank You
Srinivas

There is no Outlook Connector 12.1 BETA anymore. It has been replaced by an
official release already. You can get it here;
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9A2279B1-DF0A-46E1-AA93-7D4870871ECF

As the actual Calendar behind it is the Live Calendar, you might want to
login at the web based version of the calendar and see how they are placed
there. Also verify that you have your Live Account and your local computer
set to the same time zone and DST settings. Any offset between the 2 could
misplace the calendar items as well.

sorry my mistake, That is the file I insatlled.
I am not talking about calendar. I am talking about the date fileds in
contacts section in Outlook. The birthday date field syncs correctly, only
the anniversary date field shows one day earlier.

My live account, computer and Outlook are all set to PST.

Hmm, I cannot reproduce that here. You have added the contact information
via Outlook?

As the Windows Live Contacts itself do not support the Anniversary field,
that information is placed in your personal calendar in Hotmail. The
Birthday is added to your Birthday calendar in Hotmail.

I assume you have already upgraded your Hotmail Calendar to a Windows Live
Calendar? You can do this by accessing your Calendar via the Hotmail
interface; it should prompt you if you haven't upgraded it yet.

Yes I use live calendar.
I filled in the anniversary field via live messenger.
Then I used outlook connector to create an account in Outlook 2007 for my
live email id. This automatically brings/sync the contacts info to Outlook
2007. When I open the contact info in outlook, I see the anniversary date is
now one day prior to what I set it to.

I can send screenshots of what I see, please let me know if there is a way
to do that.

I have installed all the latest service packs for Office 2007.

Thanks
Srinivas

Some additional info.

The anniversary date shows up correctly when I use windows live mail
(desktop edition). So at least to me the live services is sharing info among
itself correctly, it is only when i use outlook connector to pull info into
outlook, i see this behavior.

Thanks
Srinivas
