port opens slowly

I have ie6. Port opens much more slowly than previously
when clicking on to dial up to access internet. Thanks for
your help.

When connected are you back to normal speed?
What did you installed recently?

When connected everything's ok. The problem is it takes a
long time to initialize. Window's troubleshooting program
suggests port seems disabled but have investigated port in
Device Manager and this is not the case. Have installed
and then removed Dell flat screen monitor. It had a little
new software with it. Maybe my modem's going.
