PORN invaded my Media Player

A flatmate downloaded some movies from a porn site, and somehow they invaded my Media Player, which now does not open. If I try to open it normally, it opens Internet Explorer and tries to access a web page (more porn of course), without opening Media Player itself. If I try to play the movie by double-clicking it, then again, it opens IE, and there's no sign of Media Player. I thought that maybe I could simply download another copy of Media Player, but that doesn't seem to be possible
Any Suggestions?
Thanks

I have download a copy of Media Player , and install it on top of the
present install and it fixed the problem. Why can't you do the same? Jym
