Populating an IMAP "To:" field - it CAN be done!!!

I let this bug me for almost 2 years, but it *IS* Possible, as the
following points out (contrary to the lack of responses and denial
posted elsewhere in these microsoft misinformation forums):

For Outlook 2000/XP/2002:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=284371

For Outlook 2003:
1) Select the IMAP mail folder with the broken/empty "To:" field.
2) Go to the "Tools" menu and select "Rules and Alerts..."
3) Select the IMAP account for this folder (should be pre-selected)
4) Click the "New Rule..." button
5) Select the "Start from a blank rule" radio button
6) Highlight the "Check messages when they arrive" option
7) Click the "Next" button
8) Scroll down and check "on this machine only"
9) Click the "Next" button
10) Scroll down and check "display a specific message in the New Item
Alert window"
11) Click the "a specific message" link in blue and type any junk text
in there
12) Click the "OK" button
13) Click the "Next" button
14) Click the "Next" button again (no exceptions to select here)
15) Check the Run this rule now on messages already in [folder name]"
box
16) Uncheck the "Turn on this rule" box
17) Click the "Finish" button to run your bogus rule
18) Wait for the bogus rule to do its thing (more email = longer wait)
and then click the "Close" button when the bogus alert window appears.
19) Now, you can see the To: field data as it should have been shown
all along.

Now, why Outlook can't just do this on its own is BEYOND ME. If only
programmers had to really use the junk that they programmed, the world
would be a MUCH better place...

If you think Outlook is so much junk, why not switch to Thunderbird?
