POP3 Problem

Outlook 2K cannot not find my ISP's mail servers,
mail.<ISPNAME>.net. This is a problem on 2 of 5
computers. When I telnet port 110 I get an error message,
and netstat -an shows 110 and 25 are not listening. How
do I turn them on?

Thanks

You can't turn on the ports, your ISP has to enable those,
but you ISP may provide alternate ports that the servers
you are trying to use may accept. You'll need to check
with the ISP and admin of the email servers you are going
to.

I can telnet the mail servers ports 110 and 25 from the
Exchange server and 3 out of 5 clients. Two XP clients
are giving me problems and I can not figure out what is
different with these two machines. All have the same
software, all run through the same DSL modem and Exchange
server. There is a client setting that is wrong, does
anyone know what it might be?
Thanks
