POP3 login troubles!

I have a user who everytime she tries to access her mail on our pop3 server
it pops up the dialogue box Enter Your Network Password..over..and over...and
over.
You can retype the correct password repeatedly and it just keeps bouncing
this box up at her. I've created her same account on my machine and I get the
same thing. If I substitute her info for my own mail info I get my mail just
fine.

What could it be with her mail account that could be causing this?
The only thing of note with her is she got married so we changed her Active
Directory user name to reflect this but her AD signon is still her old name
This old name is what she uses in her POP3 account. Trying her new shortname
doesn't help.

Who can crack this nut??

Sorry for not clarifying - We're running Outlook 2003 on Windows XP Pro.

I tried the reghack and it didn't work. The Enter Network Password dialogue
pops keep popping up when we try to check mail. Not that the password IS
saved there. Retyping the password doesn't keep the box from popping up
again. And again. :)

For what type of account? Is this the only account you have configured?

This is a user at home trying to reach our pop3 server that we run at work
for people outside of our network. I've recreated her issue with her same pop
acct info on my machine. If I swap out her login info for mine it goes
through w/o issue.
The only thing of interest is this person underwent a name change in Active
Directory when she got married. Her User acct in AD has been changed but her
network user ID has not and still matches the login name she's trying to use
with the POP server.

Could the AD change be the culprit and if so how do you recommend fixing?

Thanks so much for the help!
