POP3 account behind proxy server

I'm trying to set up Outlook 2002 with a POP3 email
account that also has exchange server. Creating the
account is fine but when I come to test the account it
fails to log onto either the incoming or outgoing mail
servers.

I suspect the problem may be the NT SBS 4.0a server
running proxy server.

Can anyone help?
 
If you're getting an error message that Outlook couldn't connect to the
server, you're diagnosis is probably right. You probably need to install
the proxy client for the proxy server.
