Pop-ups

I have Pop-up stopper installed yet recently I have
noticed many pop-ups occuring usually during the after
midnight hours. The pop-ups open when IE is not even
running. This morning I closed more than 10 IE windows
with solicitations of all types.

How do I lock out all pop ups even when the browser is
not running?

I've been running popup stopper by panicware and ad-ware
by lavasoft. Both seem to do the trick. Does this happen
when you are not connected to the internet?

I am always connected through a Linksys router/firewall
to my DSL modem. Pop-up stopper worked for many months
but now I get many pop-ups when IE is not running.

Check to make sure you don't have any spyware or adware installed on your
computers.

Alex,

I just downloaded and ran Panicware "Spybot" to detect
spyware. I eliminated many things. Do you recommend any
other adware and spyware cleansers?

what about
1. Right-click My Computer
2. Manage
3. Services and Applications
4. Services
5. Right-click Messenger
6. Click properties
7. Startup Type - change to disabled

This should stop juanitagirl trying to contact you
