POP UPS OVERTAKING ME...HELP!!!

any practical, simple, cheap ways to overcome the pop up
invasion?

Turn off the windows messenger service in services in contriol panel., but
more important, get a firewall.
 
I have been using pop-up stopper pro and it works great!!
To avoid spyware and adware use Norton Internet Security
and a program called Ad-Aware 6.0 will detect all adware
on your system, show you the list and let you delete them
 
Either get the pop-up stopper free edition (cnet's
download.com has it) or get the new Google toolbar. Both
will supress popupts.
