pop ups from hell

I thank you Gerry I needed the same this done to mine.
I followed your directions and I cross my fingers.

The popups are only a symptom of open ports on your computer. These popups
are uaually spawned by spyware. 1) downlaod and run "adaware" and "spybot"
to remove them. 2) install a firewall. Disabling the messenger service also
stops relevant popups too.
