can you describe these pop ups?
chances are they could be messages.
if they seem like messages (from people) you can disable
the service this runs on in the administration tools.
it's called the "messenger" service.
Search the net for Ad-Aware by Lavasoft - download and
install it then get the latest update file list for it and
run it on your system. Had similar problem with popups -
got so bad I couldn't use the computer. I disabled
messenger service but it hardly made a difference - ran
adaware and it foud 256 adware programs on my computer -
one of which actualy searched the internet for popups to
display. All that on a computer only 2 weeks old! The
craziest part was that most of the popups were ads for
popup blockers! LOL Now I hardly get any.
