I have been having problems accessing my university intranet from home. A
message appears saying : pop up killing software is preventing me from
accessing it. I overheard someone talking about windows xp having something
like this automatically installed. Does anyone know how do disable it?

Joanne,

XP SP2 includes a popup blocker. From the Privacy tab in Internet Properties
(Control Panel - Internet Options), you can enable or disable the blocker, and
make settings to enable it for specific websites.

If you enable the PopUp Blocker Information Bar, you can be alerted when
necessary popups are offered (such as your university intranet), and select to
receive those popups.

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
