pop up ads

hello i need help! how can i stop these annoying pop up
ads? is there a built in filter? or do i have to purchase
a program?

It depends which annoying pop-up ads you're talking about. If you mean ones
that pop up in Internet Explorer using an IE window, you need to get some
sort of pop-up filter program. I use Crazy Browser (www.crazybrowser.com).

If you mean the ones that pop up as a Window using Windows Messenger, you
need to get a firewall -- and quickly. If you're connected to the Internet
without one, you're asking for trouble. I'd advise you to head straight to
www.windowsupdate.com and make sure your Windows installation is patched
properly.
