Poor Video Quality from Analog Capture device

F

Frustrated

I am capturing analog video (VHS) from a Sony VCR/DVD
player. The video capture is very distorted. If I play
the VHS tape through the same player and view by
television the quality is fine. I have cleaned the VCR
heads. Is there some setting I am missing somewhere???

I appreciate any suggestions.

Your computer's CPU speed and memory capacity, your Capture card brand and
model, driver version, whether your hard drive is severely fragmented, what
capture profile you are using... these can all affect the quality of the
video captured. Try looking through the Analog Video Capture section of
http://www.papajohn.org for lots of good information. Or send along some
more info about your capture card and computer.
