poor printer quality

Hi! I have windows XP and my printer is an Epson Stylus
C20SX. When I try to print things out on any program,
although most of the printing is ok, some of the words are
smudged and hard to read. Please could someone who is more
experienced in computing tell me what I could do to
improve the quality of my printing or explain to me what
the problem is. Any replies would be grately recieved.
 
My Epson Stylus manual contains troubleshooting steps for poor quality. I
have a different model from yours, but that's where I would start if I were
you.
