PNG or JPG for Access Reports? Which is better for images?

Good Morning! I always enjoy coming to this community for answers to
questions. I'm not a programmer. I know a little bit of Access and have just
moved over to Access 2007. In the previous Access 2000, they told me to only
use .bmp file formats for record images, so as to eliminate bloated reports.
I have a respective image for each record that I link to for my reports.

I've read on the net that Access 2007 now supports PNG and JPG images now
without having to bloat the report. This is great. Now the question I have to
this forum is which file format is recommended for the reports? Is one better
than the other? These are mainly 1 inch by 1 inch photos that show up for
each product we have. I just want them to look good and not bog down the
report.

Can you please provide your recommendation?
Thanks in Advance!

If I understand correctly, the improvements are for images displayed with an
external image-processing software via OLE. That still leaves you "at the
mercy" of whatever image-processing software (if any), the user has
installed for that type of image file format. Many of us have, for a long
time, been using alternatives to the OLE Object approach.

An example database, with a document file, can be downloaded from
http://accdevel.tripod.com that illustrates three approaches -- there are
others, as well, hyperlinks and such, that it does not cover.
