For a very long time every time I started my machine, XP
would fid the CDROM drive and look for drivers to install
but couldnt find the drivers. I finally re-installed XP
and that problem went away. However, now XP notices new
printers and tries to install drivers for it with no
success.

Any ideas on how to fix this without having to re-install
XP.

PS: The printers were working just fine before I
reinstalled XP the alst time.

You probably need to go to the manufacturers website for the specific
printers that you have. Download and install the drivers.
Cdrom drivers are built into xp but a lot of printer drivers are not. Also
have you installed all the updates to XP since you have re-installed it? You
should do that first starting with SP1.

Hope this helps.
