Hi,
I am currently an owner of one BEFW11S4 - EtherFast
Wireless AP + Cable/DSL Router w/4-Port Switch (Version
1), two WUSB11 - Instant Wireless USB Network Adapters
(Version 2.5), and one WUSB11 - Instant Wireless USB
Network Adapters (Version 2.6). I am having a problem
with the one WUSB11 - Instant Wireless USB Network
Adapters (Version 2.6). I've had this network for about a
year, and I just got a new computer and the Wireless USB
Adapter for it. It is running Windows XP. Sometimes when
I turn it on, it will say network connection unavalible
in the system tray, then when I double click it, it will
have a list with my one network (linksys), and since I
don't have WEP I need to check a box to make it let me
connect. Then when I press connect, it seems like it is
trying to connect, but it keeps coming up with a message
saying there is one or more possible networks to choose
from, please select one from the list (that isn't the
exact message, but it is similar). Usually restarting
resolves this problem. So to try to resolve this problem,
I updated the driver. First I did this on Windows Update,
the driver update was called, The Linksys Group, Inc.
network software update released on April 17 2003. After
installing this and rebooting a number of times, it
wouldn't find my network, but it was running fine on my
other computers. So I did a system restore back to before
Windows Update, and I was able to connect, but I had that
problem where it wouldn't connect once and kept making me
select a network. So then I updated it from your website,
and I got the same problem as I did with the one from
Windows Update, though that time I didn't have a restore
point. I kept uninstalling it, then reinstalling it, but
Windows XP automatically got the bad driver from last
time and wouldn't let me choose what driver to get.
Finally I relised there was a Roll Back Driver. option
which worked. So, I have a few questions, firstly, do you
know why and how to fix the problem where it won't
connect. Secondly, do you know why the new driver
wouldn't find my network? Thirdly, is there a way to make
XP not automatically recognize my Wireless USB Adapter so
it would reinstall the driver and not just give me the
previous one that doesn't work? Its so annoying when it
thinks it is smart by doing things for you, but doesn't
let you choose what to do. As much as I like XP is an
example of this. Lastly, if its not too much trouble,
from reinstalling the driver a multiple number of times,
the number in my Network Connection from Wireless Network
Connection keeps going up, even though I deleted it
(exp., Wireless Network Connection, Wireless Network
Connection 2, Wireless Network Connection 3, ect.). I
though I found that if you delete the Wireless Network
Connection in this registry key/subkey,
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001
\Control\Network\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318},
you are able to bring it back down, can you verify that
information for me? This was originally a message to
linksys, but they said to contact microsoft for some of
the things. I apologize if any of this message is still
addressed to linksys (my lazyness). If you could answer
any of it, it would be good.

Thank You For Your Help
