Plug and Play not detecting USB

My window xp sp1a is not detecting my USB devices
(Printer.Camera). When I take the Camera and USB cord to
work and plug into win200 prof., new hardware is
detected. So atleast I know is not the USB cable. Any
ideas, how do I know if plug and play is enabled.

Dou, go to Control Panel>Admin Tools>Services. Make sure that Plug and
Play is set to Auto. You can also look in the
Bios.
