Please wait while Outlook exits - Problem

Jim Cotter

Hi,
Does anyone know why outlook hangs and leaves 'Please wait
while Outlook exits'? Is there a known fix for this.

Thanks,
Jim

This could be because one of your Outlook add-ins is busy and/or doesn't
allow Outlook to close. Also when this is at shutdown of your computer make
sure Outlook is closed before shutdown. A shutdown will cause lost of CPU
cycles as well and therefore doesn't have time to close Outlook as well. If
Outlook doesn't get a respons soon enough it will think it hangs and gives
you the warning.

Well, what about users that juts have it hang when it is normally opened and
closed?
Is there an actually fix for this problem? I have no add-ins for outlook.

I haven't come accross that. Most of the time I could trace it back to an
Add-in or having lots of Outlook windows open (and to make it even worse;
Word set as e-mail editor) so basically no Outlook problem there either.
Could it be that your virusscanner holds integration with Outlook/Office in
a way?
