but still nothing. this is pretty important it to me, it
has worked before but i dont recall when it stopped. all
this is on my toshiba satellite 5005-S507 using windows xp.

Hi dexm, suggestions:

Entry Point Not Found:
The procedure entry point RemoteAssistancePrepareSystemRestore could not be
located in the Dynamic Link Library winsta.dll
Do a search for the sr.inf file which is normally located in C:\windows. Make
sure you search hidden files in your search criteria.
Right-click on the sr.inf file and select the install option - you may need your
WinXP CD.

My hard disk reported out of specs warning suggesting
replacement ASAP. I replaced hard disk and discover
system won't initialize and realized it was suspended
when the failing drive started having problems.

"toneywho" <[email protected]> indicated
running the following in command prompt for his other
system restore problems: rundll32.exe
advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection

I tried it and fixed my problem too. It asked for the XP
CD and restore files from the CD.
