PLEASE HELP!!

Hey, i've been getting very frusterated with this for a couple weeks now can somebody please help me.(i dont know too much about computers).
Computer Specs:
Intel(r) Celeron(r) CPU 2.70GHz
Intel(r) 82845g
Hard Drive Capacity: 69.00GB
256MB of RAM

I was thinking of buying 2GB of RAM for my computer, but i'm not sure if it's worth it. Can somebody PLEASE look over my computer specs and tell me if it'll help with the lag in my daily activities and such.

That is just enough RAM to run a web browser, and maybe a very slow Word document.
Don't even consider using MS Access with that little RAM.
2GB would be a huge improvement.
Is your RAM DDR2 or DDR3?

A 70 GB hard drive by nature sounds so old.
If programming in Access is your goal, you probably need a dual processor (in my humble opinion).
