Before on window xp:

We have setup a local intranet where we use to be able to access with
www.example.com.sb for our testing environment.

Now on window vista:

When going to www.example.com.sb, it tries to go out to the web and does not
find that domain. But if I use www.example.com.sb.name.local (FQDN) then it
works.

Question:

Is there anyway I can get to work as it did before? If so, please advice me
on how to do so. Thanks.

Sounds like its not pointing to your dns... but I don't know that much about
it. try the windows server newsgroup. They're smarter than the people in
here.
