I am not very familiar with computer hardware. An alert comes up saying my
computer memory is low. I don't know how much RAM I have but my computer
seems to be running normal. What should I do?

Could you be referring to "virtual memory"?

If so, the message means that you don't have enough memory for the
programs you are currently running. The most common reason for this is
the presence in your computer of viruses and/or spyware, both of which
can consume large amounts of memory.

If you're 100% certain that your computer is 100% free of any malware,
then you are trying to run too many programs at the same time. Either
close programs that you don't really need, or buy more RAM.

The message also appears when users have been fooling around with their
virtual memory settings and, as a result, are hoisted by their own
petard. The correct setting for virtual memory is nearly always "System
managed size."

Thanks for your response but it not not say anything about virtual memory it
just says my computer memory. I figured it was physical.

Please post the exact wording of the message you are seeing. Include the
