I use XP's built-in CD burning capability for all my burning of data files.
About 6 months ago, I started getting the error "Windows does not support
this CD-R format" when I try to burn a file to a cd that I've used before.
It only happens on some cds, mostly ones that are a bit older. It's almost
as if somewhere along the line something changed in XP's burning protocol -
perhaps a Windows update or something. I see that other people have
experienced the same problem - though it doesn't seem to be common - but I
cannot find a fix.
Does anyone know what's going on with this? The cds that produce the error
were all originally burned using XP, so it's definately not a compatibility
issue with Nero, et al. And since data cds made in this fashion aren't
"closed" after the session, it's not a case where the cd has been sealed off
to further burning.
Input appreciated.
