Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question, but I have no
sound on my computer. System information had an exclamation next to some
audio devic called Microsoft Kernel System Audio Device. It said the file
was corrupted and did not recognize it. I tried updating it, reinstalling
and unistalling it. Every time it looks like it's reinstalling the drivers
it finishes syaing there was a problem. I tried searching for the driver on
Microsoft website and I'm not sure I recieed a disk with my computer. I have
a Sony Viao. Any information on how to get the sound back on my computer or
website to go for more info would be soooo much appreciated. Thanks, Colleen

First thing is to find out what Audio card or chipset you are using.
To get this information use Belarc Advisor:
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
It does a good job providing a wealth of information including the
Multimedia info.

Then go to the Audio manufactures website or Sony's site and download and
install the latest Audio drivers.
