please help! slow winxp shutdown

help!!!!!

my windows xp shuts down very very slow

i did the following:

1. disbabled the automatic winodws update service

2. rename the windows update folder in %windir%\softwarre distribution to
"software distribution.old"

3. enable the automatic virtual pagefile

4. set the nividia driver service to manual

sigh..............
