Please Help - New install

Just installed XP home over the top of my existing XP home.
Now a dual boot screen appears asking me which version I want to boot into.
Seems I have two versions taking up valuable disk space.
Is it possible to sort this out without doing another format & reinstall -
if so please can someone explain how.
