PLEASE HELP ME.........

Something went terribly wrong during my scheduled CHKDSK scan....the PC was
shut down and now I am UNABLE to get it past the boot up screen without a
blue screen appearing saying "A problem has been detected and windows has
shut down to prevent damage to the system.
This is as far as it can go..... I have tried pressing F8 at immediate start
up and tried to reboot in safe mode, last known good config...etc, and so on
and it ALWAYS goes right back to the blue screen with message above...
I am on my mother's PC and will check back later in hopes someone has helped
me...
Thank you!
Vicki

Hi Vicki

If you can't access Windows using the options you have already tried you
will have to perform a 'Repair' install of XP, which should retain all your
settings, programs and files. Have a look at the following article by
Michael Stevens:

"How to Perform a Windows XP Repair Install"
