and long days at work.

I downloaded about 20,000 emails (yes, i know it is many) and my pc got
quite slow after that. My outlook started to have problems and after 2 weeks
got stuck. It did not download new emails and asked me to run scan.pst, which
I did and also located the folder (thanks to this website), but once I hit
'fix problems' it freezes...

I tried already 5 times, probably silly me, i thought it my work out at some
point. What can I do to fix it without erasing all these emails that has been
taking me ages to sort out??

many many thanks for your help

Outlook version?
Account type?
PST file type (ANSI, Unicode) and size?

Make sure that Outlook is really closing completely when you exit.
Make regular backups of your PST file(s).

Are you sure that scanpst is "freezing"; not just working very heavily
at 100% CPU?

Obviously with 20,000 emails would cause this and many other issues.
I have no fix for you since I am having a hard time imagining this
Just out of curiosity how long did it take you to download those emails and how are
you going to go about reading them never mind answering them.
